Jindo: Creating a cultural paradise

Abstract
This paper reflects on the policies and practice of cultural preservation (protection, conservation) in Jindo, South Jeonla, Republic of Korea, and links Jindo efforts to the broad swathe of international activity. Given the many arguments amongst Korean scholars about how the preservation system operates, my aim is simple: to indicate that international discourse today supports the efforts of the Jindo people to create a 'cultural paradise'.
