Abstract
This article provides a concise survey of the state of modern Japanese literary studies in the UK. It describes the wide variety of areas being studies by UK based scholars. It refers to the work of Mark Williams, Irena Hayter, Linda Flores, Stephen Dodd, Fusako Innami, Midori Atkins, Justyna Kasza, Hanna Tamura and Vicky Young.
