Abstract

Prof. Contadini was the Convenor and Organizer of the International Conference “Arab Painting: Text and Image in Illustrated Arabic Manuscripts” that took place at SOAS, University of London, on 17-18 September 2004. The conference was supported by the AHRB, the British Academy, the Council for British Research in the Levant and the Khalili Collections. The papers from the conference are published in Contadini, Anna (ed.), Arab Painting: Text and Image in Arabic Illustrated Manuscripts, Handerbuch der Orientalistik, no. 90, Brill, Leiden, 2007 (ISBN: 978 90 04 15722 4) and second, revised edition 2010 (ISBN: 978 90 04 18630 9).
