Abstract
"Dead of Night" and "The Women" mark the turning point from war to peace at the culmination of 18 days of battle between Kaurava and Panchala clans. Here the Mahabharata's personalized portrayal of the war pays close attention to the psychology of grief, indignation, bitterness and the quest for understanding that betrayal within family and community entails.
