Rebuilding the UK Industrial Base

Abstract

The structural weaknesses of the UK’s industrial base can be overcome with three key policy options: upgrading the technological infrastructure in partnership with the private sector; encouraging long-term thinking, investment and shareholding in the financial sector; and addressing the serious skills gaps and mismatches.
