Abstract

The presentation given at the 12th WSC in Helsinki 2003 provides an overview of the origin and decline of the Loṅkā traditions with a focus on the line of succession, infrastructure and religious practices of the Gujarātī Loṅkāgaccha Moṭā Pakṣa, the then only surviving ascetic lineage of the Loṅkā school within the Śvetāmbara Jaina tradition.
