PhD Topics | I welcome applications on topics in Afghan, Pakistani, and South Asian borderland history which center archives outside the colonial. I am happy to consider topics in subaltern Islamic studies that draw upon extensive use of languages other than colonial ones, do not take identity as their key concern, and are located outside the standard canon (for example, this excludes Iqbal studies, unless it is truly an unexpected intervention). Of particular interest are projects which look at poetic epistemologies, relational ontologies, and/or environmental humanities outside European languages. |
